If you’ve read our origin story, you know a decent amount about her already. Margaret grew up in the 90s in the small town of Clinton, NC. She was practically raised in a Veterinary clinic where her mother, Dr. Laurie Hamilton, practiced small and large animal care. Her fondest memories are of emergency cases where she was able to show pet parents how to care for newborn kittens and puppies after cesareans. You may wonder, why didn’t she go to veterinary school herself? We often wonder the same, but she is quite happy dedicating her life to bettering the lives of animals this way. Affectionately named Ma Mags by all of us here, we love her kind heart and at times tough demeanor.

Teddy has been a long time supporter of RLAR and has stepped into the role of updating and listing our fur-friends on PetFinder as well as focusing on fundraising. Her dog Barney came to us after his owner passed away, and after months of being in the rescue she decided to adopt him. He now lives with her in Massachusetts, experiencing life as a spoiled house pet!
